The Challenge
“Before I joined Feis Fit, I struggled a lot with my strength and mobility as a dancer. I was not strong in the areas that could have been stronger, such as my hamstrings, core, and back muscles in order to hold up my posture. I fatigued easily in practice because I did not work on stamina outside of class. Once I joined Feis Fit, I progressively started to work hard on improving on my weaknesses, and with time, I became a way stronger dancer and my technique even got better too!”
How Feis Fit Helped
“Feis Fit helped me learn how to manage my own workout routines during the week outside of practices, and how to layout circuits and exercises on my own. Soon enough I was able to do workouts on my own while applying the skills I had learned in Feis Fit.
Feis Fit not only made me stronger as a dancer, but it helped me achieve a stronger mindset going into major competitions and in everyday life. Spending a lot of my time dedicating my dance career to body conditioning has helped me gain a better perspective of how I need to continue taking care of my body as an athlete. It not only makes me feel good, but it helps me feel confident in my own body! Over time, Feis Fit has helped me understand how I could further strengthen my body to make me feel the strongest I can be and ready to go for competition!
Finally, as a young female athlete, I have also struggled with body image. It is so common for young girls to get caught up in the media and look down on themselves because they don’t look a certain celebrity or ad they see. Spending my time at Feis Fit, I learned to embrace my qualities a strong athlete. I learned that I didn’t need to look a certain way in order to be happy with myself. I realized the only way I could be happy with myself was accepting my own unique qualities. Along with health and nutrition, I’ve learned the best lessons from Feis Fit in order to live a healthy lifestyle and continue achieving my goals as a dancer.”
